Introduction

We are off to.... is our Blog to allow family, friends, and others that are interested to follow us on our extended RV travels.

We aren't full time RVers but like to take extended trips of a month or more as often as we can. We prefer public agency campgrounds like State and National Parks, US Forest Service, etc. We do use some RV Parks if they are the closest or most convenient place to things we want to see or do.

We will attempt to provide information on the various campgrounds we stay in, things to do in the area, and pictures of what we see.

Visiting Family

We spent Friday through Sunday with our daughter and family in Washington for a weekend of celebrations. Friday was Wes's brithday, Saturday was his baptism with a big luncheon afterwards, and Sunday was Brynn's birthday.

Some of the pictures can't be enlarged as they were emailed from an iPhone.

Grandma, Grandpa and the kids before the baptism.

Reese was having a good time throwing the ball for Sadie.

Grandma Linda is really in her element!

Today we met our other daughter and family in Missoula, MT for dinner.  They are on a week long vacation visiting friends in Lolo, MT which is south of Missoula.   We decided pizza sounded good.   I suggested MacKenzie River Pizza Co. as I had been there a number of years ago and remembered it was very good.  It turns out that's the place they were going to suggest.  It's still as good as it was years ago!

We are at Jim and Mary's RV Park just a mile north of I-90 on US 93.  It is a very well maintained RV Park with long Pull-thru sites and back-in sites that average 65' deep and have ample width.  The park has mature trees that provide good shade and there are small  flower gardens planted throughout the park.   A definite place to stay again if in the area.

Tomorrow we move on to Greenough Lake USFS Campground south of Red Lodge, MT.  It is at the base of the Beartooth Highway which is one of our favorite drives.  One of the days while there we will go over the 11,000' Beartooth Highway and check out Yellowstone's Lamar Valley.   It is one of the best places to see Grizzly bear, Bison, and other large animals.

There is no cell service at the campground so we will have to go into Red Lodge to connect.  Red Lodge is a historical Montana town that hosts a number of events throughout the summer.
