We prepared to leave at a leisurely pace this morning as we only had about 50 miles to go. We stopped in Lincoln City, attended to laundry and then some grocery shopping as check in time is after 1 pm. We arrived about 2 pm.
Cape Lookout is on a scenic three-capes loop; Cape Kiwanda, Cape Lookout and Cape Meares. It is all southwest of Tillamook, OR. Cape Kiwanda is south of Cape Lookout.

The campground has a mix of sites; some very exposed with little vegetation and others deep into forests of mixed conifer and alder. We are in the wooded area and it is nicely protected from the wind. It was quite pleasant today with the temps in the upper 60s and just a mild breeze.
Entrance to the campground. Note some of the exposed sites on the left.
As you enter, the main loops are in the trees.
Our campsite.
Further in on our loop are a number of Yurts with most occupied.

The beach in front of the campground offers compact sand for an easy stroll.

Many travel days involve short distances from one location to the next, setting up, then checking out what there may be to do in the area. There are a number of trails to walk and some viewpoints that we hope will provide us with wonderful new things to see. We have two full days here to explore. What better entertainment could we ask for?
Home away from home!
Introduction
We are off to.... is our Blog to allow family, friends, and others that are interested to follow us on our extended RV travels.
We aren't full time RVers but like to take extended trips of a month or more as often as we can. We prefer public agency campgrounds like State and National Parks, US Forest Service, etc. We do use some RV Parks if they are the closest or most convenient place to things we want to see or do.
We will attempt to provide information on the various campgrounds we stay in, things to do in the area, and pictures of what we see.
